Paw Pumpkin Pie
The best part of any holiday meal? Dessert! Stuff your Classic KONG with chopped apples, carrots, and pumpkin puree to inspire the warm feeling of pumpkin pie. Fix this delectable treat to savor the sweetest part of any holiday with your pup.
Ingredients
- ⅜ cup of Grated Carrot
- ⅛ cup of Apple
- 1/4 cup of Pumpkin Puree*
- *Pumpkin should be the only ingredient in the pumpkin puree. Avoid getting sweetened pumpkin puree.
Instructions
- Step One: Cut the apple into cubes, half of the width of the KONG entrance.
- Step Two: Grate the carrot.
- Step Three: Mix all of the ingredients (apple cubes and grated carrots) in a mixing bowl.
- Step Four: Stuff into your KONG.
This fiber-packed treat is filled with excellent sources of both soluble and insoluble fiber, which aids in healthy digestion, helps to manage blood sugar and blood cholesterol levels, and improves the levels of beneficial bacteria. We love the grated carrot as whole carrots can sometimes be a choking hazard in an overzealous pup!
